About Us
The English Regions Equality and Human Rights Network (EREN) was set up in April 2008 and comprises of strategic Third Sector organisations from all 9 English regions with a broad equalities and human rights brief, and a significant membership of associate networks in the Region that they serve.
The EREN Journal details the beginnings of EREN from a mapping exercise to research the equality organisations in the English Regions, where it became apparent that the developmental stage of regional equality networks across England varied considerably. This exploratory research between the regions naturally led to the development of EREN when it became evident the benefit a national network of regional equality infrastructure organisations could have in sharing good practice across the country and forming working relationships with national bodies. The Journal also entails information about EREN’s recent work. For more information please view the EREN Journal – January 2011.
Also please read EREN’s Strategic Goals 2011-2012.
EREN Membership Criteria
EREN comprises of strategic Third Sector organisations with a broad equalities and human rights brief from each of the 9 English regions. Core representatives are from the 3rd sector, equality or not-for-profit organisations. Membership of the group will be reviewed by the network from time to time, in consultation with existing members, but it should reflect the main strategic players in each region. Should you wish to find out more about the network and opportunities available then please contact info@eren.org.uk. In order to contact your local EREN representative please go to the appropriate member’s website (below).
