Free capacity building training for NGOs and civil society organisations in central London

Runnymede is offering UK NGOs and grassroots organisations working in the equalities sector the opportunity to attend one of two free awareness raising seminars focusing on advocacy, the media and monitoring. Holding Public Bodies to account; How the new Public Sector Duty will work, 8 December 2010, London

This event, which is hosted by HEAR, LCF and the EHRC, will focus on how community and voluntary sector organisations use the new Public Sector Equality Duties to hold Public bodies to account.  Changes in the duty will mean that there will be more onuses on communities to ensure that public bodies are held accountable for their actions.

London and South East of England Human Rights in the Community Event: 8 July 2010, London.

The British Institute of Human Rights, RAISE, HEAR and EREN (English Regions Equality Network) are pleased to be hosting a joint event for the South East of England and London voluntary and community sector on human rights, helping the third sector to empower the lives of individuals and communities.

• Are you a community-led organisation working to tackle inequality and social injustice in your local area?

• Would you like to empower the individuals and communities you are working with by increasing their knowledge of human rights and how to use human rights to tackle poor treatment and inequality?

• Would you like to use human rights to increase your influence and impact with public policy makers?
